Bouclier de forme ovale, taillé dans une pièce de bois. Il a des stries sur le visage, une mâchoire carrée, et une bouche fermée par une croix. La forme de ces stries permettent de distinguer la caste ou le clan du guerrier qui le porte.
La croix sur la bouche indique que le guerrier qui le portait n’avait pas le droit de parler, seuls les marque sur son bouclier indiquaient à quel clan il appartenait.
Ce bouclier est une reproduction d’anciens objets d’art premier.

Beautiful silk scarf and cotton Ethiopian, crafted through a traditional production process. First, the cotton is spun into a fine thread, a technique that is diminishing with the rise of mass produced goods in Ethiopia. This cushion cover is handmade by the artisans combine their skills and talents to create the finished product.
Before, a group of 13 women trace the patterns onto plain white fabric, and apply melted wax within the outline.
Then, the fabric are dyeing, treating, de-waxing and hanging to sun, and finally sewing.
Cette housse de coussin est fabriquée à la main par des artisans qui unissent leurs compétences et leurs talents pour créer le produit fini.
Au préalable, un groupe de 13 femmes tracent les motifs sur un tissu blanc uni et appliquent de la cire fondue à l’intérieur du contour.
Ensuite, le tissu est teint, traité, déciré, exposé au soleil, puis cousu.
